Dr Christopher McCormick – Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at EF Education First

A lifelong love of learning languages and discovering other cultures led Christopher to a career path dedicated to intercultural education. As EF’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, he oversees the instructional design and delivery of EF’s international language programs. In collaboration with EF Learning Labs, he oversees linguistic research initiatives with the University of Cambridge, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Peking University. He also contributes to the delivery of major projects for governments, companies, and institutions, such as EF’s provision of language services to the Beijing 2008 and Sochi 2014 Olympics and the EF-United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Summer School. Christopher has traveled in over 70 countries and has lived in the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, France, China, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Switzerland. He holds a B.A. with honors in French and Russian from Tulane University as well as an M.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, both from the University of Texas at Austin.
